"Who is this in front of me right now? I gotta get used to this person, and FAST. This came out of nowhere and I absolutely NEED that old person back if we are to work things out. I mean, there's absolutely nothing I can do with you sometimes these days. You really show signs that you are losing your passion and love for me. I wonder how long this has been the case, because even though this is crazy left field, it's soooo genuine and soooo...dark. I hope this nightmare doesn't last :/
The risk of conflict is that as soon as it enters the picture, so can pride. Some have mastered their pride and put it in check. Others have let their pride actually alter their realities. Now, as I stated earlier, I am an advocate for not just accepting some things that come your way, and being proactive in the attempt to change your future. When pride is in the picture though, there exists an obsession with your own perfection. There exists a false illusion of a sort of "untouchable" truth to your being. Two people are no longer operating on the plane of reality when pride enters the picture. So the question for me has always been:
When pride enters the picture, how can we get rid of it...on both sides?
My theory has always been to just open up a dialogue in which each accepts their faults and each owns their rights. This works ONLY if both parties are willing to open that up. For some, being stuck in their pride is the most comfortable place to be and stay. This is fine! I have always wanted to talk right away! Conflict always seems pressingly urgent to me because I know if I lean too far into my pride, there is no turning back. However, I am not representative of everybody out there. What I have realized is some people just need some time to see that their actions based in pride are flawed and need to be corrected...including me."
